Alison_TarmeyDr Alison Tarmey BDS (Glasgow)

Principal Dentist

Alison is the principal dentist at St Francis and takes pride in putting her patients at ease and creating happy smiles. She is dedicated to providing high quality, modern dentistry and has gained the Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London. As a mother of two young children, Alison understands the importance of dental health for the whole family and enjoys helping children care for their teeth.

Alison graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1999 and has worked in private dental practice in Hampshire since 2001. Outside dentistry, Alison enjoys running, cycling and playing the clarinet.


Fred_SjoblomDr Fredrik Sjöblom DDS (Sweden)

Fred is passionate about providing the highest quality care for his patients in a relaxed and friendly way. Fred graduated from the University of Malmo, Sweden in 2000, before starting his dental career in England the same year.

Fred has worked in private dental practice in Hampshire and West Sussex since then and has gained a wealth of experience in modern restorative techniques. Outside dentistry, Fred enjoys golf, walking and foreign languages.


Dr Vlado Fazekas MUD (Slovakia) MSc (Manchester)

Dr Vlado Fazekas joined our team in August 2015, having worked in Winchester and the New Forest since 2006. Vlado qualified in Slovakia in 2002, where he worked as a Dentist and Clinical Teaching Fellow at UPJS University, and trained in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Surgery. In September 2016, he began teaching Prosthetic Dentistry at King’s College, London.

Vlado is enthusiastic about new innovations, continuously expanding his knowledge with postgraduate courses. He gained his MSc in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Manchester in 2016 and recently started studying for a Diploma in Postgraduate studies at Bristol University. The course focuses on periodontology (gum disease treatment), endodontics (root canal treatment) and conscious sedation for nervous patients.

Vlado takes particular pride in providing minimally invasive dentistry, helping his patients to enjoy comfortable dental care whilst achieving the smile they’ve always wanted. In his spare time, Vlado enjoys running, going to the gym, photography and travelling.


Mr Mohammed Al-Gholmy BDS, FDSRCS(Eng), BM, MRCSEd, FRCS(OMFS)

Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Mohammed joined our team as a  Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in July 2016.  After qualifying in 1994, he became a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998 and went on to obtain his Medical Degree from Southampton University followed by his Board Intercollegiate Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh granting him Consultancy in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

Mohammed has an extensive Hospital Consultant practice, he has had numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, and he is extensively involved in undergraduate medical and dental training.

At St Francis, Mohammed’s role includes the surgical removal of difficult teeth, including wisdom teeth along with placing dental implants and apical surgery (apicectomies).  He is also pleased to see patients with jaw joint problems, other oral lesions, or concerns over facial lesions such as moles.

Outside work, Mohammed is married with a son and enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include reading, especially around the field of aviation. Obtaining a PPL is high on his list of priorities.


Sarah Hayward

Dental Hygienist

Sarah joined our team in October 2015, having qualified as a Dental Therapist and Hygienist at Portsmouth University in 2009.  Since qualifying, Sarah has worked in private specialist and NHS practices developing a wide range of skills and expertise.

Sarah believes that prevention is better than cure and that the quality of her work reflects her love of her job.  Home life is full of fun and laughter with her little boy and baby girl, and in her free time, Sarah loves to keep fit and travel.


Nikki Flint

Dental Hygienist

Originally from Northumberland, Nikki has lived in the South for over 27 years. She trained and worked as a dental nurse before gaining her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1992 from Guys Hospital in London.

Nikki enjoys passing on her knowledge to patients and guiding them to achieve the best oral health possible.  Outside dentistry, Nikki enjoys travel, walking and keeping chickens.


Kirsty Underwood

Dental Hygienist

Kirsty joined our team in September 2015, having qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist at the University of Portsmouth.  She has also recently completed a postgraduate placement with a specific focus on preventative care for adults and children.

Kirsty particularly enjoys helping her patients achieve their own oral hygiene goals – and seeing the results in healthy teeth and gums.  Outside dentistry, she spends most of her time looking after her horse and enjoys getting outside and socialising with friends.

Dental Nurse

Debs joined our practice in 2010 and enjoys working with our friendly, relaxed team and caring for our patients. She believes in making visits to the dentist as stress-free as possible and always enjoys meeting new people. Debbie is currently studying for her Oral Health Education qualification. When she is not at work, Debs enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, swimming and reading.

Jenny joined our practice in 1986 and over the years has got to know many of our patients and their families very well. She believes that listening and building great relationships with our patients is a big part of what makes St Francis special. Outside work, Jenny enjoys travel, reading and spending time with her family.

Trainee Dental Nurse

Emily joined our team as a trainee dental nurse in September 2015, as part of her training towards full dental nursing accreditation.  Emily enjoys learning about all aspects of dentistry while helping her patients feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible. In her free time, Emily enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.

Linda has been part of our reception team at St Francis since 2001. She believes in the importance of making patients feel comfortable during their visit and describes her greatest joy as “bringing a smile to their faces, knowing they feel valued and respected and looking forward to their next visit”.


Sarah Foy

Practice Administrator

Sarah joined our team as our practice administrator in 2015. She enjoys meeting people, getting to know our patients, and helping to make St Francis a great place to visit. Outside work, she is training to be a yoga instructor and enjoys running and spending time with her family outdoors.
