Dr Alison Tarmey
Principal Dentist

As the principal dentist at St Francis, Alison takes pride in putting her patients at ease and creating happy smiles. She is dedicated to providing high quality, modern dentistry for all.
Alison graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1999 and has worked in private dental practice in Hampshire since 2001. She is always looking to further her skills and knowledge, and has gained the Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London and Certificates in Cosmetic and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry and Advanced Occlusion with the highly respected Dr Chris Orr at Advanced Dental Seminars.
As a mother of two teenage children, Alison understands the importance of dental health for the whole family and enjoys helping children care for their teeth and feel at ease in the dental chair.
Outside of dentistry, Alison enjoys running, cycling and singing.
Mr Mohammed Al-Gholmy
Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Mohammed joined our team as a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in July 2016. After qualifying in 1994, he became a Fellow of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998 and went on to obtain his Medical Degree from Southampton University. This was followed by his Board Intercollegiate Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, granting him Consultancy in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
At St Francis, Mohammed’s role includes the surgical removal of difficult teeth, including wisdom teeth, placing dental implants and apical surgery (apicectomies). He is also pleased to see patients with jaw joint problems, other oral lesions or concerns over facial lesions such as moles.
Outside of work, Mohammed is married with a son and enjoys spending time with his family. His hobbies include reading, especially around the field of aviation. Obtaining a private pilot licence is high on his list of priorities!
Dr Doel Mitra
Dentist

Doel joined the team at St Francis in November 2019, bringing her 25 years of experience in quality, family dentistry in the South of England.
Doel believes the best dentistry is provided in a friendly and reassuring way and likes getting to know her patients. She enjoys working with anxious patients to help them feel comfortable in her care.
Doel completed a PG Certificate in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute in London in 2020 . She is married with 3 grown up children.
In her free time, Doel loves reading and dancing.
Dr Idy Cheung
Dentist
GDC Number: 114632
Idy joined the practice in July 2023. She graduated from Kings College London in 2007 and has worked in Southampton since graduation. She has also worked as an Educational Supervisor to mentor newly qualified dentists.
Idy enjoy’s all aspect of dentistry, especially helping patients overcome their fear of visiting the dentist.
”I like to get to know my patients. I believe that it is important to treat patients with respect and make them feel comfortable and relaxed as well as providing high quality care.”
Outside of work Idy is married with one young daughter. She enjoys playing korfball for the local team, as well as badminton and netball. She also loves travelling and sampling different cuisines.
Sarah Hayward
Dental Hygienist

Sarah joined our team in October 2015, having qualified as a Dental Therapist and Hygienist at Portsmouth University in 2009. Since qualifying, Sarah has worked in private specialist and NHS practices, developing a wide range of skills and expertise.

Sarah believes that prevention is better than cure and that the quality of her work reflects her love of her job. Sarah loves to travel with her family, especially going skiing.
Kirsty Underwood
Dental Hygienist

Kirsty joined our team in September 2015, having qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist at the University of Portsmouth. She also completed a postgraduate placement with a specific focus on preventative care for both adults and children.
Kirsty particularly enjoys helping her patients achieve their own oral hygiene goals – and seeing the results in healthy teeth and gums. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys walking her dog in the countryside and socialising with friends.
Caroline Kochanowska
Dental Hygienist

Caroline joined our team in 2022, having qualified as a dental hygienist at Cardiff University in 2010. Since then, she has worked in both NHS and private practices.
Caroline really enjoys working with patients to achieve healthy teeth and gums. She is passionate about delivering excellent treatment as well as putting patients at ease particularly if patients are nervous.
When not working Caroline enjoys playing netball and spending time with family.
Tahrin Rahman
Dental Hygienist

Tahrin joined our team in July 2024 having qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist at the University of Portsmouth. University of Portsmouth. After qualifying as a dental hygienist and therapist, I have worked in private and NHS practices developing my skills and working with a diverse group of patients and different dental care needs.
“I enjoy working closely with my patients, educating them about better oral care, and helping them improve their oral health. I aim to also help dentally anxious patients feel at ease when they are in the surgery and help them overcome their dental fear and restore their trust in dental care. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy travelling and spending time with family.”
Jenny Adams
Lead Dental Nurse

Jenny joined our practice in 1986. In her long career working at the St Francis, she has got to know many of our patients and their families, and believes that listening and having a great rapport with them is a big part of what makes our practice special.
Jenny became the practice Decontamination Lead in 2019 and recently passed the Level 2 Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Lead course.
Outside of work, Jenny enjoys travelling around the UK with her partner, reading, watching quiz shows and meeting the demands of their cat, Ziggy.
Rachel Dacruz
Dental Nurse

Rachel joined the team at St Francis in 2018 and completed her diploma in Dental Nursing in 2020.
Rachel is passionate about providing patients with the best possible care, ensuring they are happy and calm during their visit to the dentist.
When she’s not at work, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family.
Rosie Pullin

Rosie joined our team as a trainee dental nurse in 2020, and completed her nursing diploma in July 2022. She enjoys caring for patients in a way that makes them feel happy and relaxed.
In her spare time, Rosie enjoys walking her cockapoo, Marlie, going to the gym and spending time with her friends and family.
Emily Daish
Dental Nurse

Emily originally trained as a dental nurse with St Francis Dental Practice from 2015 to 2018. She has rejoined the team in 2023, since gaining further work experience outside of the practice and becoming a mum.
‘I’m passionate about helping all patients and making them feel happy and relaxed on their visits. Outside work I enjoy spending fun days out with my little boy. I also enjoy walking and watching movies.’
Daisy Pimbblet
Trainee Dental Nurse
Daisy joined our team in September 2022 as a trainee nurse. She is really enjoying her new role and is attending Eastleigh College to study for her nursing diploma.
In her spare time she loves walking her two dogs Alfie and Bertie, going out with friends and family, as well as visiting and exploring new places.
Sarah Foy
Practice Administrator
Sarah joined our team as Practice Administrator in 2015. She enjoys meeting people, getting to know our patients and helping to make St Francis a great place to visit.
Outside of work, Sarah has trained as a yoga instructor and enjoys walking with friends in the Hampshire countryside.
